Al ristorante italiano Da Claudio, su Ann Street, vicino alla fermata di Fulton Street, la pasta fatta in casa e i salumi sono squisiti.
How to Travel to NYC for Business like a Grown-Up
When you can walk into a restaurant alone, book in hand, and say with the utmost confidence, “Table for one, please,” that’s when you know you’re a true adult. Da Claudio attracts plenty of solo diners, most of whom opt for a spot at the long, unassuming bar at this authentic Italian eatery.
"A Rustic Italian Kitchen in FiDi"
Da Claudio offers a speciality Italian menu with a modern and creative twist. The seasonal menu is always changing with new and exciting dining options for guests to enjoy. Using only the freshest and finest imported ingredients, all pasta, sauces, stocks and desserts are made in-house with each dish unique in flavor.
The Resident Magazine: April

Another favorite lunch spot is Da Claudio. This is my go-to for entertaining anyone with a bit of creative edge. The atmosphere is downtown cool meets the Financial District.
"An Italian Rebirth in Lower Manhattan"
Getting Da Claudio up and running after their former South Street Seaport restaurant was destroyed by superstorm Sandy has been a labor of love for Linda and Claudio Marini—their love of good cooking, hospitality and serving the lower Manhattan customers who kept them going when things appeared bleak.
Authentic Italian at Da Claudio
Not your typical trattoria, the decor is chic and contemporary with concrete floors, brass light fixtures, and warm leather banquettes. With a beautiful marble bar serving wine and Italian liqueurs, this is a great spot for after-work drinks or a relaxed dinner with family and friends.

Two Years After Superstorm Sandy, Da Claudio Opens in FiDi
The chef at Da Claudio, Mattia Meneghetti, had worked at Barbarini. In collaboration with the Marinis, he devised a menu of Italian specialties with a contemporary twist. Produce and meat are locally sourced. Many of the pastas and all of the desserts are housemade.
Da Claudio is open daily. Initially, it will be open for dinner only from 5 p.m. to midnight.
Barbarini Owners about to Open New Restaurant
“As a family we made sacrifices,” Linda said. “We saw this challenge as a life lesson for our children. We needed to set an example for them. We are a small business, essentially a mom and pop shop.”
"The rebuilding of the community has been more than bricks and sticks"
Linda Marini, the co-owner of restaurant Barbarini Alimentari, said she and her husband didn't get any help from the city when they decided they couldn't risk waiting for the Seaport to be flood proof. They decided to move their 7-year-old eatery from its Front Street storefront, which was severely damaged, to higher ground at 21 Ann St.

Barbarini Finds Higher Ground
Claudio and his wife Linda’s faith, though tested to the utmost, was rewarded last week when they announced that they had signed a lease for a space in the Financial District. Their restaurant, Da Claudio NYC Ristorante e Salumeria, will open at 21 Ann St. on the corner of Theatre Alley in early 2014, they said in an email newsletter.

Their Ship Has Not Sailed
During Superstorm Sandy, the East River rushed through the storefront windows of bars, shops and restaurants in and around South Street Seaport, tearing rooms apart and dragging their contents onto the sidewalk.
